What next? If the tasters are well supported we plan eight full-day taught units plus assessment (equivalent to 60 hours) from September 2008. Students will study four core units and four optional units, ensuring they gain the practical horticultural skills they require as well as training in specialist areas. Taster courses will count towards the RBGE Certificate. The Eden Project is pleased to collaborate with the Royal Botanic Garden Edinburgh, which has been training students and professionals in horticulture for over a century. The RBGE Certificate in Practical Horticulture is a modern, international-standard qualification that draws on this wealth of experience. The course provides a framework for teaching the fundamentals of handson horticulture. Assessment and verification guidelines administered at RBGE ensure that the qualification is standardised worldwide.
