ROLE OVERVIEW: This is a very demanding, exciting, unique and at times frustrating role. You will be challenged with maximising revenue and profit, through actively selling the unique venues Eden has to offer. This will involve some travel and overnight stays. Outstanding customer service to all clients, from initial contact through to final delivery is a challenge that must be delivered. All our conference or event facilities are shared with our day visitors or education team so clever negotiating and juggling to find the perfect location/room for an event is always a challenge. A clear understanding of Eden’s ethos will certainly help your performance in the this role
NB this C & B role is different from Eden’s Events Manager role, you will not be expected to organise the Sessions, seasonal programme or Club nights, but you could have an involvement in each event.
A) EXPECTATIONS FOR PERFORMANCE
1. Operate to standards agreed with the Food & Beverage Manager, and work closely with the Project Head Chef to ensure these standards are achieved.
2. Achieve budgeted sales and profit requirements.
3. Actively sell Eden’s venues to a wider audience, within Cornwall and nationally.
4. Work closely with marketing teams to ensure a pro-active approach to promotional material
5. Manage and develop the small C & B team of core staff, together with building inter-departmental relationships, this is going to be essential to ensure the smooth running of your department
6. At all times to be professional, engaged and personally accountable
B) KEY SKILLS THAT WILL HELP YOU:
1. People management, negotiation skills and a great telephone manner, strong IT skills. You need to have the confidence to inspire others.
2. Ability to think on your feet and have bags of self motivation and common sense
3. The desire to smash through challenging financial targets and prove the ability and potential of this department
C) QUALITIES YOU WILL NEED TO DISPLAY
1. A sense of humour and the ability to keep calm in a storm
2. A passion for working with others and a desire to deliver only the very best
3. A clear understanding of the “bigger picture” at Eden so you understand why certain things out of your control happen, which you could feel have a negative affect on your department, but contributes to Eden future.

Relevant experience and qualifications Personal license holder
Proven track record in Conference and Current driving license
