Eden

Where the wind turbine will be

The proposed site is on the northern side of the Eden Project, close to Melon car park and the main access road to the site, and over 450m from the nearest house.

Unlike most proposed sites for wind turbines, the Bodelva site already has most of the infrastructure required. A new access track will be required from the existing main access road to the proposed site, but there will be no need to make any road improvements for construction traffic and turbine delivery.

The turbine will stand on a concrete foundation which will be up to 16-18m in diameter and 2-3.5m in depth. Apart from the turbine plinth, to which the tower is attached, the foundation surface lies up to 1m below the normal ground surface and is backfilled with soil.
