It’s Plant Record time….
(For a bit of fun, every Friday our Plant Records Manager, Chris Bisson, the guy who maintains all the recorded information on our plant collections, will do a regular blog slot where he recommends his favourite “plant records” – that is, songs that are in some way linked to a plant. (Do you see what we did there?) )
‘Blackberry Way’ – The Move (1968)
Epic slice of chart-topping pop-rock from the Brummy group which spawned ELO and the monumentally hirsute Roy Wood, of Wizzard fame.
Brambles, of course, a perennial bane for gardeners everywhere but they do have one saving grace in autumn, their juicy black fruits, which seem particularly abundant this year. Eden have a lovely cultivar in fruit at the moment Rubus fruticosus ‘Loch Tay’.
Whether you’re collecting fruit or planning other activities, have a great weekend!
