Local school lanterns safe from flood waters

14.30: We’re really pleased that the lanterns that we’ve been creating with local schools for the St Austell Torchlight Carnival have survived the torrential rains and are safe, dry and looking as beautiful as ever.

The delicate lanterns were being made in our Dome Tent, which is right at the bottom of the site, where the most severe flooding has taken place.

Luckily, as the water rose last night so did the wooden floor inside the tent, which meant the lanterns floated safely above. The next task will be delivering them safely to St Austell ready to take pride of place on Saturday night.

Just gone on line to get the correct address for an Xmas card!I was horrified to read of the devastation and good luck repairing the damage.Unfortunately little news comes the way of Bulgaria but i hope to be back to see it and all in June next year.
