New veg bag scheme for St Austell area to support disadvantaged
June 6, 2011

Eden’s neighbours, within the St Austell area, can now sign up for a delicious fortnightly veg bag, filled with local produce grown at Eden’s plant nursery.
Behind the veg bag scheme is the heart-warming story of the People and Gardens project, which gives those with physical and mental health issues the opportunity to learn all aspects of growing and selling vegetables, from sowing seeds and potting on, to planting and harvesting, to weighing and packing.
Their horticulture skills have developed so much that the group now not only delivers a Veg Bag to over 70 households in Cornwall each month, but even supplies the Eden Project’s kitchens.
Find out more about the project and how to sign up for a veg bag.
