Play
Play is vital for the young and young at heart. It helps develop skills and knowledge and connects people with their environment, as well as keeping them fit and healthy.
What do you remember about your childhood? Making dens, climbing trees, playing outdoors with friends perhaps? What did it do for you? Fond memories possibly, but play has also helped all of us to become more rounded citizens - happy, fulfilled, able to interact with others, communicate, understand our environment and live, survive and contribute to a positive society.
At Eden we grow our own play structures, out of Willow and Bamboo, we have created hidy holes and shortcuts. All natural materials - the chance for children to be really close to nature while seeing the different uses of our resources.
There are special "look and you will see" peep holes at the viewing platform for a good children's view of the site.
On the way down Eden's zig-zag paths we have shortcuts for the kids. These are wooden stepping stones, swingy rope handles and plenty of fun to occupy adults and children alike.
There is a slate xylophone for everyone to bash out some tunes, willow sandpit and tunnels to create sandy Biomes with and a storytelling area made from bamboo to hide in and hear long lost tales of plants, myth and magic.
