Climb our Rainforest Lookout

The Rainforest Lookout is an aerial platform at the top of the 165-foot-high Rainforest Biome – which is taller than the Tower of London.

Adventurer Bear Grylls visited Eden to officially open our Rainforest Lookout. Bear, who took high tea on the Lookout with Tim Smit before abseiling to the ground, said: 'It's an amazing view here over the Rainforest Biome. Whenever I've done this for real in a jungle you're covered in bullet ants and fighting through snakes to get a view up over the canopy. This is great because you get a nice walk up there and a spectacular view.'

The climb up to the Lookout gives you a unique bird’s eye view of the biggest greenhouse in the world. From the platform you can see the tops of giant trees such as kapok and balsa which have nearly reached the biome ceiling and may even catch a glimpse of our resident wildlife such as tree frogs and tiny birds known as Sulawesi White Eyes.

Please note: There are 9 flights of stairs to get there. It's very hot (possibly 40°C) and very humid. To be on the safe side we're asking customers to complete a medical questionnaire. Sometimes, if the temperature is too high, we have to close the Lookout to visitors.
