Online pre-booking is available for with sessions starting at 10.30am, 11.30am , 12:30pm and 1.30pm. From 2.30pm until 5pm no booking is needed: just find us in our Hut in the Wild Cornwall area of Eden and we’ll get you climbing straight away.

Introduction to Rock Climbing Course

• Dates and times: Every Sunday from 1 April to 4 November 2012, 10am to 11.30am
• Price: £12.50 per session

Get some expert tuition to introduce you to the sport. Our experienced instructors will meet you in Apple Cafe in the Visitor Centre. Pre-booking is essential, so please contact our Box office on 01726811972. Please be aware that although valid Eden admission is not required, if you’d like to explore the rest of the site you will have to purchase an entry ticket separately. 

If you like this and want more, the Eden Project has teamed up with local climbing legend Simon Young to offer climbing courses, on and off site, covering everything from the basics of knot tying to advanced climbing techniques. Details will appear on this page soon.  

Bouldering Wall

Our Bouldering Wall has been put together by expert South West climber Simon Young, and although artificial (it’s made of ply!) it’s been designed to recreate the look and feel of Fontainbleau’s famous boulders. With over 50m2 of space and three levels of overhang we have set over 100 problems ranging in grades from Font 2-3 to Font 7c+. 

Our Bouldering Wall is open to all climbers on weekends from 2.30pm to 5.45pm and on weekdays during holidays from 10am to 12.30pm and 2.30pm to 5.45pm for just £4. If you prefer, we can give you an induction for £15 and then for £4 you can climb whenever the Eden Project is open.

Terms and conditions

To ensure that you are prepared for your climb please read the following:

• You should be aware that as our Rock and Bouldering Walls are located on site you will also need valid Eden admission unless you are joining Kids Rock or an Introduction to Rock Climbing session. 
• All children under the age of 16 must be accompanied by an adult (except for Kids Rock). The minimum age for climbing is 7.
• All climbers should be aware that rock climbing and bouldering are physical activities which do involve an element of risk. As such all climbers should be fit and active and be aware that they are climbing at their own risk. 
• Please arrive at our Hut in Wild Cornwall at least 10 minutes before the start of your climb unless stated otherwise for the specific session you’re interested in. 
• The rock and bouldering wall will be open in all weather conditions bar the most extreme. For this reason and others it is important that climbers are appropriately dressed. This normally means shoes with a closed toe (trainers are ideal) and no skirts as a minimum. However it could also include trousers, coats and hats! 
• You will be asked to remove all loose items and jewellery from your person before climbing. Please bear this in mind. 
• You will also be asked to fill in a health questionnaire before climbing or bouldering. 
• Tickets are non-refundable. 
• We reserve the right to cancel climbing sessions at short notice. If this occurs we will offer a re-booking or a full refund.
