More about the Eden Foundation
The Eden Project extends far beyond the Biomes, The Core and the pit.It is far more than a collection of plants. It is about the environments these plants come from, reverence for the wild places and an empathy with the people who live there and how they make their livelihoods. It is about linking this awareness to choices - about how we use their and our own environments. It is about commonalities between our cultures and about how all our needs and wants can be achieved sustainably. Eden is about communication and giving people a voice.
Underlying all of these initiatives is an approach that focuses on finding solutions rather than cataloguing problems, and that always searches for ways in which people can improve their environment and their lives. Human impacts on the environment have often been terrible, but many positive examples also exist. People have already begun to show that they can live in a sustainable way and can be effective stewards of their world. Eden stands for new beginnings, and new responsibilities.
The objective is to create an organisation that works for environmental, economic and social health from a local, through to national and international levels.
