A Partnership project

Gardens for Life is a partnership project created and run by the Eden Project. We work with school gardening programmes around the world to help schools share their experiences and stories with each other.

We have partners in Kenya, India, the Gambia, and Singapore and are working with the National Gardening Association to develop Gardens for Life in the United States. To find out more about our partners please see below.

Kenya Youth Education & Community Development Programme (KYCEP)

KYCEP is a non non-governmental not-for-profit organization. Its aim is to drastically lessen poverty and inequality through empowering young people. KYCEP is based in Nairobi and has offices in the Rift Valley and New York.

Centre for Development Education (CDE)

Centre for Development Education is based in Pune, India and provides development education in both formal and non-formal situations and in the community. CDE has successfully managed projects related to global issues in education and community, sponsored by large corporations for over 20 years.

Makasutu Wildlife Trust

Makasuta Wildlife Trust (MWT) coordinates the activities of our Gambian Gardens for Life schools. MWT is an NGO which aims to help protect the wildlife and wild habitats of The Gambia and to encourage a greater awareness, appreciation and participation in all aspects of biodiversity, its conservation and sustainable use, and the environment. Gardens for Life in the Gambia is funded by various grants and the generous support of Makasutu Culture Forest and The Gambia Experience.

Community in Bloom

Run by the National Parks Board in Singapore, Community in Bloom consists of around 300 active gardening groups and almost 100 schools. Gardens, consisting of flowers, herbs, spices or even vegetables, can now be found in public and private housing estates, schools as well as other organisations, such as hospitals and welfare homes.
