Going a long way to meet the needs of Gardens for Life in the Gambia

Gardens for Life in the Gambia desperately needs money for simple things that we take for granted -- hoses, fencing, good seeds, tools and basic knowledge transfer.
In November Jason Florio and Helen Jones, along with two Gambian locals, Abdouli Janneh and Mohammed Nije, are undertaking an epic journey – nothing less than an anticlockwise 700-mile walk round the perimeter of the entire country to raise funds for, and awareness of, this vital project.
Jason is a professional photojournalist who has dedicated at least a month a year for the past 13 years to photographing the people who live and work around a sacred forest in the Gambia. The resulting book, Makasutu – Mecca in the Forest, was published this year. Helen, a practising massage therapist and nutritionist, has visited the country annually for 14 years. She is the instigator and production manager of this expedition, and she and Jason have been working together on shoots for the past two years – including a six-week shoot last year in the Gambia to finish his book.
You can help Jason and Helen reach their fundraising target by sending a cheque made payable to the Eden Trust to Nicola Hawkins, Gardens for Life Gambia Appeal, Eden Project, Bodelva, Cornwall PL24 2SG with the following reference on the back of the cheque: GFLGAMBIA. Or you can donate online
All monies raised will go to support Gardens for Life in the Gambia.
