700 Miles

Gardens for Life in the Gambia desperately needs money for simple things that we take for granted -- hoses, fencing, good seeds, tools and basic knowledge transfer.

In November Jason Florio and Helen Jones, along with two Gambian locals, Abdouli Janneh and Mohammed Nije, are undertaking an epic journey – nothing less than an anticlockwise 700-mile walk round the perimeter of the entire country to raise funds for, and awareness of this vital project. For more information see here.

1.4 miles recurring...

It's not just Jason and Helen who have been inspired to help Gardens for Life in the Gambia. Last month Eden learned that Malang Jambang our Gardens for Life coordinator has had his motorbike stolen. Malang needs his motorbike to visit our Gambian schools. On hearing this sorry tale, David Rowe, our Head of PR, immediately set about arranging a sponsored bike ride around the Eden pit rim. Donning helmets and mounting bikes 18 Eden staff roared around the pit rim culminating in a freewheel down into the Rainforest biome.
