Cast member profile: Adie DelaneyAdie Delaney began as a gymnast then entered the circus world at 18 years old. Since graduating from the National Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne, Australia, with a degree, she has worked in street theatre, large sporting ceremonies, festivals, small circus collectives and traditional circus before joining NoFit State Circus in 2008. Adie’s career has taken her to over 20 countries performing swinging trapeze, flying trapeze, hula hoops, trampolining, bungees, whipcracking, and general acrobatics.
I loved Adie Delaney’s giddy grin as she swung full-throttle on the trapeze.
What is your proudest achievement?
When, at the end of tour, the people who I work with and watch the show every day say they still love watching my act and don't want to miss it. Also being referred to as 'irrepressible' by Total Theatre in 2010.
What do you enjoy most about performing?
Making the audience feel like they can fly.
What is your greatest fear?
I don't believe in being afraid.
Who do you most admire?
My parents and David Attenborough.
What are you looking forward to about performing at Eden?
The site-specific nature of the production, and living by those amazing
Biomes. Lots of fresh air and greenness!!
One of the most shake-your-head-in-disbelief beautiful things I have ever seen.
