Teacher training and school development

We offer a range of inspirational teacher training programmes and staff development packages to support school teachers in getting their pupils back outside.

The development packages and training are designed to help participants:

  • build confidence and expertise for using the outdoor environment to teach the primary curriculum
  • rethink your school grounds to best enable outdoor learning and play
  • transform the culture of play in your school

Why is outdoor learning so important?

  1. To improve cognitive skills, health, imagination and self esteem; all essential ingredients for a happy and successful young person and pupil.
  2. To reverse the decline in outdoor play; modern children spend, on average, just 9% of their time outside; a lot less than previous generations.
  3. Because the school playground represents a large percentage of a child’s outdoor experience. It’s essential that outdoor learning and play is embedded into daily school life.
