HotHouse speakers and facilitators
Dan has combined his diverse skills from a career as an environmentalist, educator, and business consultant in the creation of the HotHouse business leadership programme. He’s an Honorary Research Fellow in the University of Exeter's Biosciences department, and he leads the Eden Project’s Sustainability MSc, run in partnership with Anglia Ruskin University.
Tom spent many years working in conservation in the African bush, before bringing his skills back to the UK, first to Dartington Hall and then to the Eden Project. His experience in environmental and systems management has seen him thread the sustainability agenda into the mainstream activities of many businesses and charities. He’s also the director of a social enterprise working in Botswana and Nepal.
With a background in environmental education and conservation, and extensive experience designing and delivering Eden's experiential learning programmes, Pam has a passion for helping people learn from the great outdoors. She loves to explore new approaches to teaching and learning and believes that engaging the head and the heart is key to motivating people to embrace change.
Richard's skill lies in guiding individuals and groups on a journey through nature, for which he draws on 30 years of studying indigenous wisdom with a range of teachers across Eastern and Western traditions. Since Eden’s foundation he has been key in shaping and delivering many of Eden Project’s learning programmes, with visitors, community activists and business groups, as well as our own staff.
Mike's background in public engagement has led to him facilitating a range of programmes at Eden, touching on everything from community development to corporate team-building. He cut his teeth teaching science to teenagers, before going on to work for some of the biggest pharmaceutical companies in the world.
'This has been a very special four days. The facilitators have been truly inspiring.'

Guest speakers and workshop leaders
We invite some brilliant individuals to join the team in leading the programme – who bring with them specialist knowledge and a story to tell. Here are some that we often work with.
Eden Project Executive Vice Chairman and Co-founder
Former music producer Tim Smit is renowned for his incredible vision in founding the Eden Project and restoring the Lost Gardens of Heligan. An unorthodox thinker through and through, Tim is nevertheless a firm believer that sustainability is not about sandals and nut cutlets, but good business practice and the citizenship values of the future.
