Locals’ Pass Holders are in for a special theatrical treat at the Eden Project this spring with the arrival of the children’s favourite Room on the Broom show.

Tall Stories’ hit musical stage adaptation based on the best-selling book by former children’s laureate Julia Donaldson and illustrator Axel Scheffler – creators of The Gruffalo – is being staged at Eden on April 28th, 29th and 30th.

It offers a feast of truly scary fun for children aged three and above. The tale features a witch and her cat flying happily on their broomstick until a stormy wind blows away the witch’s hat, bow and wand.

A helpful dog, bird and frog find the witch’s lost things, and they all hop on the broom for a ride. But this broomstick’s not meant for five and – crack – the broom snaps in two.

When a hungry dragon appears, who will save the poor witch? And will there ever be room on the broom for everyone?

Eden Interpretation Production Manager Chris Pritchard said: “Room on the Broom is a classic children’s tale loved by millions and we are certain that this stage presentation will be a massive hit with young ones and adults alike.”

The show, described by the Times as 55 minutes of high-energy treat, is being staged on April 28th at 2pm and 4.30 pm, one the 29th at 11am, 2pm and 4.30pm, and on the 30th at 11am and 2pm. The Eden dates are part of a national tour.

Room on the Broom is presented by Tall stories, the company that brought their smash-hit production of The Gruffalo to Eden project. A registered charity, Tall Stories are internationally recognized for their exciting blend of storytelling, physical theatre, original music and lots of laughter.

Tickets for Room on the Broom go on sale on Thursday 12 March at 4pm and are available to adult Eden Locals' Pass holders. There is a booking fee of £3 for adults, £3 for children and £3 for concessions. A maximum of six tickets can be bought by an individual adult Eden Locals' Pass holder.
