The Eden Project’s annual beer festival will return on the evening Saturday October 1, promising a selection of top tipples, fabulous food and live music.

The one-day festival, organised in partnership with the renowned St. Austell Brewery, will feature a huge range of speciality beers and ciders.

Highlights from the selection include St Austell Brewery’s Big Job, Hanlons Brewery’s Yellow Hammer Ale, Box Steam’s Piston Broke, Glamorgan Brewing Co.’s Thunderbird and Polgoon Cornish Pear Cider.

St Austell Brewery’s Eden-inspired Small Batch Brews, including a Baobab Wheat beer, will be available together for the first time.

Live music will be playing throughout the evening, courtesy of The Big Sets, The Odd Folk and Winston’s Awake.

The Big Sets were formed in 2012 by four blues-and-funk-loving lads from Sunderland. They had recently moved to Newquay, in Cornwall, to pursue their love of surfing by day and playing the blues by night.

The Odd Folk are a passionately ramshackle quintet, playing their own brand of "triumphant folk". They have produced two albums, Haul Away and The Sweet Release.

Winston's Awake are a lively blues rock band based in Cornwall, made up of Robin Owen on guitar and vocals and Malcolm Shead on drums. They have recently released their second EP, The Thinker, and are regularly playing local gigs.

Tim Hardy of the Eden Live team said: “We are excited for our fourth annual Beer Festival. As always we will have a great selection of beverages to try and brilliant bands for our visitors to enjoy.”

The Eden Project beer festival takes place on Saturday October 1, starting at 6pm and ending at midnight. Last orders for drinks are 11:30pm and bands will finish playing at 11pm.

Advance booking is advised for this over-18s ticketed event. Tickets cost £12.50 and include four drinks tokens and a commemorative pint glass. Further beer tokens, which can be exchanged for 1/3 of a pint, can be purchased on the evening and cost £1.20 each.
