Singers Jamie Crowe and Kezia back for Eden’s Christmas laser show: selected dates until December 30

Two of Cornwall’s most popular musicians are enchanting audiences with their beautiful live set at the Eden Project’s spectacular laser show this Christmas.

Singer and songwriter Jamie Crowe has returned to head up a new line-up of the Sound of Light Ensemble once again featuring acclaimed singer Kezia on lead vocals.

The band’s unique blend of Cornish folk and ambient electronica is the perfect accompaniment to the Festival of Light and Sound extravaganza taking place at Eden on selected dates throughout this month.

Last year Jamie and his crew wowed listeners in the Mediterranean Biome with his original songs such as Holy Day, Open Hearted and Seven Bells.

Now the Ensemble is performing among the laser beams in surround sound and alongside a recording of London-based professional chamber choir Blossom Street.

The stunning music is available to buy for the first time this year with part one of the forthcoming album ‘Elysium’ on sale at Eden.

The Festival of Light and Sound features a laser show by artist Chris Levine and soundscapes by musicians Robert Del Naja of Massive Attack and Mercury Prize-nominated singer song-writer Nick Mulvey.

Live performances by the Sound of Light Ensemble are interspersed with the 3D immersive soundscapes.

The focus of the Festival of Light and Sound this year is on the interplay between light and Eden’s exotic plant life and landscape, with multiple festive-coloured laser beams tracing and highlighting the shapes and forms of the former clay quarry.

Jamie, who used to front one of Cornwall’s biggest bands, Rootjoose, and later Rairbirds, said: “We’re thrilled to be back performing live music for this cutting-edge light and sound installation with a more evolved immersive sound.

“By pre-recording choral and orchestral elements and integrating them into the show we’ve tried to create a live surround sound experience which puts the audience right in the heart of the sound.”

The Sound of Light Ensemble is made up of Kezia on vocals, keyboard and guitar, Jamie Crowe on guitars and vocals, Kristian Sharpe on electronic drums, Colin Seddon on double bass and vocals, Annie Baylis on violin and vocals and Kath Williams on cello and vocals.
