Cornish folk songs and hilarious puppet shows are some of the fantastic features the Eden Project has to offer for the first of its family fun weekends this month (January 13-14, 2018).

There will be creative and interactive activities for everyone to enjoy at the Faeries, Fables and Folklore weekend.

The action-packed event will celebrate wildlife and the faery myths of Cornwall in a world of flora, fauna and folklore with the return to Eden of the hugely-popular Squashbox Theatre.

Their crazy characters, silly slapstick humour and hilarious puppets will be showcasing a mixture of songs and storytelling, with a quirky and inventive performance of Skillywidden.

Eden Live Project Lead Marion Harrison said: “We love celebrating all things Cornish at Eden through great storytelling and magical displays and this is exactly what’s on offer for this weekend.

“It’s really exciting to have Squashbox Theatre back. We’re sure that the mischievous pisky Skillywidden and all of his dancing faery friends have some fantastic stories to tell.”

Squashbox Theatre has a stunning selection of sell-out shows and its popular “Universarama!” has been performed at Eden.

As part of the family fun weekend, Launceston-based harmony vocal and guitar band The Countrymen will be inviting visitors to sit back and enjoy a mix of popular Cornish music with a twist - a repertoire of folk rock and acapella pieces, sure to get the whole family toe-tapping.

In addition to the live entertainment, those who are feeling creative and inspired can try their hand at writing their very own folk tale in the crafts and workshop area.
