Eden one of the top 50 workplaces in UK
June 24, 2008
The Eden Project has been named as one of the country's top 50 workplaces in a poll based on employees' opinions conducted by the Great Place to Work Institute and the Financial Times.
Eden was the only tourism organisation and only company based in the south west to make the top 50. It was also one of only two charities – the other being Asthma UK - who made the list. The poll was topped by Google.
Eden is one of the country’s foremost social enterprises and employs around 500 people. Since it opened in March 2001, the project in Bodelva has welcomed nearly 10 million visitors and has pumped more than £800 million into the local economy.
Gaynor Coley, Eden's Managing Director, said: "Since before the day we opened, Eden has relied upon the energy, skills and enthusiasm of our people.
“We do not have all the answers, but we do have remarkable camaraderie and a team that is prepared to take risks to find good solutions, so it is a great pleasure to see that translated into our team voting us a Great Place to Work."
