School trips: Foundation & Key Stage 1

Children aged 3 to 7 love exploring Eden by taking a sensory journey through the world of plants.

School groups can either attend one of our exciting half-day workshops led by our education officers or come here on an independent teacher-led visit.

Half-day workshops

Our workshops, described in detail in the PDF files below, are learning journeys exploring particular aspects of Eden. They are led by our experienced education officers, but the input and participation of your school staff is essential to the success of these workshops.

Every workshop includes an exploration of one or more of Eden's three Biomes (Rainforest, Mediterranean or Outdoor). They are all linked to the National Curriculum and explore issues relating to education for sustainable development.

  • Cost: from £3.80 to £4.85 per pupil (includes admission) – note that the Pocketful of Eden workshop has an extra charge of £10 for resources
  • Maximum group size: 35 pupils; minimum charge of £97 applies for groups of fewer than 20

Independent teacher-led visits

For many schools this is a great way to explore Eden, especially if your time here is short. Following your introductory briefing you are free to explore the site at your leisure, undertaking your own activities or following one of our Eden Trails (see below). Space for your bags and a place to eat lunch can be provided.

  • Cost: £3.70 per pupil (includes admission)
