Plan your school visit
This page features helpful advice on bringing a school trip to Eden, from booking your trip to what to bring with you when you come.

Book your trip
All visits must be booked in advance by filling in our online school visit request form, or by calling 01726 811913.
Your school will be invoiced after your visit. Please note that education groups without a confirmed booking will not receive our discounted education rates.
When to visit Eden
Facilitated education groups are welcome on site from Monday to Friday during term time. As Eden can be very busy at peak times of the year, you may find visiting outside the main tourist season more rewarding.
How long your visit should be
In our experience, many schools find they have not allowed enough time to explore Eden when planning their visit. Our site is large and four hours or more are required for a worthwhile exploration. Please remember this when you are planning your day.
Access for all
We are committed to supporting visits for those with special educational needs. We aim to create equal opportunities for everybody to experience, learn about and get involved in the Eden Project. Please tell us your requirements when you make your booking.
Free planning visits for teachers
Teachers who have made a confirmed booking of a school visit can come to the Eden Project for free to help them plan their visit. These teacher visits must also be booked in advance.
Accompanying adults
We require the following minimum ratios:
- Foundation and Key Stage 1: 1 adult to 5 children
- Key Stage 2: 1 adult to 10 children
- Key Stage 3: 1 adult to 10 children
- Key Stage 4: 1 adult to 15 children
Within these ratios accompanying adults are free.
What to bring to Eden
Students and staff will need to bring:
- equipment such as clipboards, pens and pencils
- a packed lunch (including a drink and, we recommend, an additional bottle of water)
- layers of clothing, including appropriate outdoor clothing, to help cope with the variations in temperature between our indoor Biomes and outdoor gardens
- hats and sun cream on sunny days.
Welcome briefings and allocated space
As far as possible, all education groups receive a welcome briefing when they arrive at Eden, and will be allocated space to eat lunch and store bags. On busy days you may be sharing with another group.
Health and safety
We will do our utmost to ensure that your school visit is fun, worthwhile and safe. Please download our health and safety guidelines (PDF) to support you in your risk assessment process. If you have any concerns, please contact the Education Team (tel: 01726 811913, email: shusband@edenproject.com).
