Our outdoor learning training sessions can help you:

  • build confidence and expertise for using the outdoor environment to teach the primary curriculum
  • rethink your school grounds to best enable outdoor learning and play
  • transform the culture of play in your school

Our courses aim to empower schools to make the changes you want to see and enable you to continue the process of change once the training has finished.

We cater for a range of needs, from a staff meeting to a full- or multi-day session. See our different courses below, all of which are ideal for CPD and INSET. Costs are from £495 for a full day's training for up to 20 people.

Why bother with staff development to support outdoor learning?

  1. To improve cognitive skills, health, imagination and self esteem; all essential ingredients for a happy and successful young person and pupil.
  2. To reverse the decline in outdoor play; modern children spend, on average, just 9% of their time outside; a lot less than previous generations.
  3. Because the school playground represents a large percentage of a child’s outdoor experience. It’s essential that outdoor learning and play is embedded into daily school life.
