Carbon Monster

Carbon Monster, written by schoolteacher Katherine Wheatley, is a storybook explaining “carbon footprints” to young children. The illustrations are simple, quirky and eye-catching and have been constructed using newspaper, magazines and phone directories. Aimed at children aged between 5-9 years old, this book tackles environmental issues in a positive and fun way.

The story is about a boy named George, who one day notices a line of tiny footprints behind him. As days go by, the footprints get bigger and bigger but who do they belong to and why are they following him? Read the Carbon Monster to find out how these strange footprints change the way George lives his life.

This book not only gives a great environmental message but it’s produced in a great, eco friendly way as well. It’s printed on 100% recycled paper with no nasty chemicals added, even the inks are vegetable oil based!
