The cardboard packaging feels nice and sturdy and is so full of colour it really catches the eye, and once openned there is a whole story with words and pictures of how chocolate came about......a little history lesson there for us all, great for the kids too, as the pictures are fun and informative.
Milk Chocolate which tasted as you can imagine just lovely, silky textured and easy to keep eating as smooth and creamy and delicious!
Milk Chocolate and Seville Orange........absolutely delightful......orange and chocolate were made for each other. Again a smooth silky texture and flavour perfect. Hard to eat just a chunk of this one......it tasted so yummy, so we just kept eating it until it was gone :) A sure favourite with the kids :)
Milk Chocolate and Cornish Sea Salt.....Wow! We have never tasted anything like it.....it really does have a salty flavour which is quite odd but nice. If I had seen this in the shop I probably wouldnt have bought it to be honest, but on trying it, actually it is really quite different and tasty and you are satisfied with just a small piece of the chocolate. The kids weren’t keen on this one at all, which meant more for Rich and I......definitely one more for the adults I would say. A great gift for someone who has never tried it before ;)
Dark Chocolate and Coffee......mmmm, one of my favourites. The dark chocolate and the coffee compliment each other so well, its divine! A nice crispness that you would expect from Dark Chocolate, and being a Dark Chocolate it was again one that Rich and I were able to have a small chunk of and leave, which is a really nice way to eat chocolate.......it lasts for longer than a day and just the tiniest piece gives the most satisfaction.....a real hit in our house.
Dark Chocolate and Chilli..........Oh Yeah! Gives a full chilli kick which goes so well with dark chocolate once again and gives it that twist that makes eating it fun and fiesty! A little goes a long way for sure, as the hotness stays with you for a while after the chocolate hit. Another one that goes further as it is not the kind of bar you would sit down and eat the entire thing in one go. A great one to grate into your chilli con carni also to give that extra richness and flavour :)
Both the dark chocolates have that nice crisp crunch.
These chocs were a hit in our house and also for friends to try when they came round, which was definitely fun when it came to the sea salt milk chocolate and the chilli dark chocolate, haha!
The five bars came presented beautifully wrapped in Eden Project ribbon (which we used for Evas bug safari magnifying glass). They would make gorgeous gifts either as a set of as individual bars.
A good fair price for fairtrade, locally made chocolate, which is wrapped well in colourful eyecatching wrapping, and from recycled products.
What a treat! Perfect for a bit of indulgence - my husband and I thoroughly enjoyed testing the different flavours and had to be very strongwilled to save some for the kids!
The bars come beautifully packaged - special enough to give as a gift to the chocolate lover in your life or to take to a dinner party for sharing (if you can bear it :)
The kids absolutely loved the beautiful and entertaining (and educational!) illustrations by Paul Spooner on the inside of the packets - so much in fact that they flattened them out and kept them.
Delicious mix of classic flavours like orange and coffee alongside some slightly more adventurous ones such as chilli or seasalt. Our favourites were the Milk Chocolate and Sicilian Orange (smooth AND zingy), the Dark Chocolate with Chilli (perfect 'heat', very warming and great with red wine) and the Milk Chocolate with Cornish Sea Salt (beautiful contrast of sweet and salty - glad there was only one of these in the pack as could have eaten 10!).
Great product... will definitely be ordering a few of these for christmas presents.
Nice to see you can also buy the bars individually - perfect stocking fillers (hint, hint).
