TOP TIPS:
Sow your seeds: Carrot Mar-Jul, Sweet Corn Apr-May, Tomato Feb-Apr, Lettuce Mar-Aug
Start seeds indoors in 7.6cm (3”) plastic pots – (Fun to Grow pots are ideal) using firmed, moist compost, sprinkling the seed thinly and covering different seeds with twice their own depth of compost. (Sweet Corn 2 seeds per pot) Cover your Lettuce only very lightly as light helps the seeds to germinate. Place on a warm, sunny windowsill and water if the compost looks dry.
When seedlings are large enough to handle, plant them singly into 7.6cm (3") pots. (If you have 2 Sweet Corn plants per pot, transplant one into another pot and leave the first to grow on. Plant your Carrot and spare Lettuce seeds direct outside when the soil is warm enough.
Care of your healthy vegetables
When the danger of frost is past, plant your vegetable plants in the garden.
Space your Tomato 45cm (18") apart, Sweet Corn 38cm (15"),
Lettuce 15cm (6") and Carrot 15cm (6").
Pick your vegetables: June-October
They are easy to grow and will provide you with plenty of tasty, healthy vegetables.
