ANIMAL TAMBOURINE – can be traced back to ancient India, China, Egypt and Rome and was often associated with dancing, rejoicing, victory and times of happiness and gladness. Our animal tambourine has symbols inside its body, which makes it easy to hold and shake, setting the symbols in motion. (please note that animal could be different from image shown).
CARVED MARACA - Maracas and rattles are common to many cultures all over the world. They are traditionally made from hollow dried out gourds containing loose seeds. Simply shaken to make a sound, they are often used to emphasize dance movement or as part as a traditional ritual. Our carved maraca comes from Peru where it is lovingly decorated with pictures and patterns from local folk history, depicting animals and wildlife from times past and present.

MONKEY DRUM - Probably originating in Africa, monkey drums are found all over the world and are a popular instrument with children. These monkey drums, or damassas as they are known locally, are made in a small family-run workshop in the mountains of Peru. Roll the stick in the palm of your hands - try to make different rhythms, try changing the pace at which you roll.
BIRD WHISTLE - Our bird whistle is a perfect mini flute and can mimic birdsong by moving the stick up and down when you blow at the same time. Made with bamboo in Java, Indonesia, these whistles can be used to communicate with wildlife. Why not buy two and try chatting with a friend - bird whistling in the new thing!
