Fentongollan
Fentongollan farm is in a beautiful situation, nestled on the banks of the Fal estuary where the Hosking family has farmed at since 1883. As well as growing cereals and producing early fat lambs from a flock of Dorset sheep, they have 160 acres of daffodils that are grown for the sale of cut flowers and dry bulbs.
Fentongollan has one of the widest ranging lists of home grown varieties available for sale in the country. These are sold in the UK, and even exported to Holland, from August to early December. Great care is taken in the health of the bulb stocks and they cherish the reputation that Cornwall has for being one of the finest growing areas in the world for Daffodils and Narcissi.
Whether you need ten bulbs or a tonne, for the smallest garden to a country estate, their online mail order facility caters for all requirements.
In January through to April, bunches of daffodils are available. The Hoskings recently teamed up with Marie Curie Cancer Care, donating money from the sale of special bulb varieties and boxes of cut flowers.
“We’re pretty sure our customer would like the thought that there’s a bit going to charity,” explains James, a fourth generation Hosking responsible for the cut flowers and bulbs.
