The Brighton pair, aka Mike Kerr (vocals and bass) and Ben Thatcher (drums), manage to create a huge, hard-edged sound and have won accolades from rock’s grandees, including Led Zeppelin’s legendary axe-man Jimmy Page.

They caused a major splash with their self-titled debut album in 2014, with many critics and fans lauding them as the saviours of British rock music. The album topped the UK charts and was certified platinum, becoming the fastest-selling British rock debut in three years. It spawned the singles Out of the Black, Come on Over, Figure it Out, Little Monster and Ten Tonne Skeleton. The record was nominated for the Mercury Prize in 2014.

Royal Blood released a cryptic video in December, widely interpreted as a hint that they will be releasing a new album in 2017.


Renowned Bristolian riff-ragers Turbowolf will be bringing their signature brand of patchouli-drenched punk rock fury to the Sessions. They established a big reputation headlining Live Nation’s Download Freezes Over tour as well as sharing stages with chart-toppers Royal Blood.
