Choose a session to suit you
A valid Eden admission ticket is required for all the sessions, in addition to the ticket for the relevant session. We advise skaters to arrive at the Visitor Centre at least 30 minutes prior to their booked skating slot.
General skating sessions
- Price: £7 (adult), £6 (child), £24 (any combination of four adults or children)
Our public skate sessions are 40 minutes long and begin on the hour.
Penguin skating aids
- Price: £4 per session
Our penguins (featured in the video on this page) are ideal for helping young skaters to gain confidence on the ice. They can be hired for any public skating session, but pre-booking online is advisable.
The penguins are 91.5cm tall and although there is no minimum height restriction, the user does need to be able to walk and reach the handle. The maximum height for use is 120cm (3' 11¼"). The charge covers the full 40-minute session and there are no refunds or part-refunds if the penguin is not used or is only used for part of the session. Bookings are non-refundable.
Parent and toddler ice-play sessions
- Price: £5 per child (includes accompanying adult)
Special non-skating ice-play sessions for kids aged between 18 months and 5 years, with plenty of toys to play with. The sessions last 40 minutes, and children must be accompanied by an adult (at least one adult per two children).
On Sundays these sessions last 45 minutes, from 9.30am to 10.15am, and the Eden Ticketing Desks will open at the earlier time of 9.15am.
Chilly Juniors sessions
- Price: £6 per person
Fun skating sessions with races and games on selected Sundays for 6-12 year-olds. Participants need to be able to skate. Parents/guardians are also welcome on the ice during these sessions.
- Price: £52 (child), £60 (adult)

Skating sessions for schools and nurseries
During term time, teachers can take advantage of ice play and skating sessions reserved exclusively for education groups. Find out more about school skating.
Skaters are welcome to bring their own ice skates to use. Please note that socks must be worn with skates and we do advise that an extra pair of socks is worn for comfort.
Skate sizes start at child size 8 (EU 25) and go up to adult size 15 (EU 50). Socks must be worn with skates and we do advise that an extra pair of socks is worn for comfort. We also offer bob skates for toddlers, in size 10 down to approximately size 5. These fit over their own shoes but please note that, for smaller sizes in particular, suitability depends upon the style of the shoe.
Children aged 14 years and over can be unaccompanied both on site and on the ice. Children aged 8 to 13 years need a parent or guardian to be available either on the ice or around the rink.
We welcome children on the ice rink who are at least 18 months old and are confident walkers - we advise parents to choose a toddler-focussed skating session from our timetable. Children aged 7 years and under must be accompanied by a parent or guardian on the ice, except for 'Chilly Juniors' where they must remain around the rink. We advise 1 on 1 supervision for children under 5 years of age.
We welcome manual wheelchairs on our ice rink – up to a maximum of five per skating session. Please telephone the Box Office to arrange taking a wheelchair on the rink: 01726 811972.
Manual wheelchairs must have a waist strap, so that they are secure, and must be pushed by a personal assistant (who gets in for free).
We don’t allow electric wheelchairs on the ice, due to the weight of the chair and the subsequent difficulty of slowing them down. However, electric wheelchair users are welcome to borrow one of our own manual wheelchairs and waist strap from the Boot Room by the rink.
If you are not a wheelchair user but feel that a wheelchair would be beneficial for you on the ice rink (for example, if you are suffering from a bad back), please talk to an ice steward on arrival.
