Come along on 24 February and to compete in the first ever Indoor Gig Rowing Championships – we'll have sessions suitable for every ability.

About the activities

Individual time trials

Rowers in different categories will be able to compete against each other in time-based trials in the Mediterranean Biome, so that we can crown the first-ever world champions. Rowers will pit themselves over two race distances of 1000m, which will see the best qualify for the final, a 2000m shootout for the ultimate accolade of standing at the top of the podium.

Mixed team relays

A pure test of teamwork – work together to finish a 4000m distance in the fastest time – does your relay team have what it takes to master the changeover and come out on top?

Rainforest relay challenge

For a bit of extra fun, your relay team can also sign up on the day to take part in a very special challenge in the steamy Rainforest Biome. We'll be attempting a relay totalling 77 kilometers, the length of the Panama Canal – see how far your team can go!

Stuff for spectators

There’ll be plenty to do and see for non-rowers too – come along to cheer on the rowers, learn about the rich history and craftsmanship of gig boats in Cornwall, and hear about the vital part they played in the working and recreational life of the county.
