Eden's stunning gardens are well worth a visit in themselves
We're famous for our revolutionary Biomes so it may come as a surprise to visitors how much there is to see and explore in our stunning gardens which are well worth visiting in themselves. Especially when you consider that over 10 years ago the gardens were a barren landscape 15 metres below the water table with no level ground, no soil and no plants. Over 3/4s of Eden’s planting is outside which goes to show how much there is to explore outside the world famous Rainforest and Mediterranean Biomes.

Facts and figures
• Over three-quarters of Eden’s planting is outside
• Size of the Outdoor Biome: 13 hectares (over 30 football pitches)
• Plants: 1,890 different species and cultivars

Eden’s gardens in Spring
Eden is stunning at any time of the year and in Spring it's blooming gorgeous, offering everything to the Spring garden visitor. The bulk of Eden’s outdoor daffodil crop will burst into colour, complemented by a selection of crocuses and spring flowering shrubs. Also flowering early in the season will be a ribbon of thousands of grape hyacinths tracing a blue path through the grass on the roof of the Link building between the Biomes. Daffodils, which will dominate the displays in March, have a long tradition of being grown and bred in Cornwall with varieties such as Tete-a-tete, Carlton, Rosemoor Gold and our very own Eden Gold Daffodil. From April there is a finale of English wild flowers including bluebells, campions and violets.
Eden’s gardens in Summer
The herbaceous borders beside The Core building look their best in early summer. Look out for new growth tree ferns and wild flowers, roses, dahlias, sweet peas and day lilies in flower from mid June. Visitors in mid July will see the lavender bests beginning to flower and just behind them tea ready to be plucked. We also have a fantastic display of vegetables and herbs. In August wild floers lead you down the Zig Zag Path to the spectacular white borders next to the Grand Staircase.
Eden’s gardens in Autumn
During late Autumn we focus on spring bulb planting and harvest time across the site.
Eden’s gardens in Winter
The mid winter is never bleak at Eden! Our anemones provide a splash of welcome colour and our hanging winter vegetable baskets are fantastic to look at. As dusk falls the outdoor landscape transforms into a sparkling winter wonderland with fir trees and silver birch laden with snow and twinkling lights.
