What’s new
Eden is a living theatre of plants and people, and like every great theatre what happens on stage is dramatic and constantly changing. There’s all the stuff you’ve heard about: the huge rainforest, the biggest greenhouses in the world, and art and architecture inspired by the natural world. And there's a lot you may not know about: hidden corners such as Wild Cornwall, a mini Cornwall of yore, or our Spiral Garden, for instance. For children we also have new trails and endless leafy places to play with shortcuts, hideaways, stepping stones and sandpits.
Food glorious food
Our wide range of cafés and restaurants, each with a distinct flavour and stories to tell, bring you fresh, healthy food, all responsibly sourced. We cater for all tastes: vegetarian, vegan, carnivore, gluten free and have recently introduced really tasty new menus.
Our Gallery café (open from June) offers spectacular views of Eden through a wall of windows, and has a relaxing outdoor terrace which is a great place to enjoy a beer or a glass of wine. Or why not try Med Kitchen, with its unique views into the Rainforest and the Mediterranean Biomes. Jo’s Café also has a gorgeous terrace with great views over Eden and a fabulous new "superfoods" menu.
More to explore
We’ve also planted Seed, a 70-tonne granite sculpture and symbol of respect for the plant world. Seed sits at the heart of our exciting exhibition and education centre The Core, a building which is an exhibit in itself with the roof modelled on a sunflower.
Inclusive access and experiences
In order to provide a great experience for all ages, abilities and backgrounds we work with the Sensory Trust to find creative approaches to physical access and sharing information.
A personal voyage of discovery
Interactivity so often means 'computer' these days, but we like to communicate face to face where we can. Our new team, the Pollinators, act as performers, guides and storytellers to help make your visit a personal voyage of discovery.
Discover more with the Story Compass
Eden and Node Explore have collaborated to bring you the Story Compass, a handheld GPS companion to enhance your visit to Eden.
Whether you are on your very first visit, or an Eden regular, the Story Compass will offer you something interesting and different. With behind-the-scenese footage, exclusive film clips to watch, including tips and information from our own experts.
You can use the Story Compass to:
- See the Biomes being built in front of your eyes
- Hear our Green Team talk about the plants they look after
- Find out how we control the temperatures in the BIomes and what happens when we need to stop the waterfall
- Listen to a story about spieces or find out where your tea and coffee comes from
The Story Compass gives you the chance to dig deeper behind the scenes at Eden, hear from some of the people we work with around the world and find out more about the projects and programmes your money helps us, as a charity, to deliver and support.
Available to rent from the Visitor Centre.
