The Core is home to our Invisible Worlds exhibition, which explores the interconnectedness of life and the environment at every scale.

The beautiful modern architecture of the Core is based on the structure of a sunflower, which is made of hundreds of flowers that combine to create something greater than the sum of their parts.

Core facts

An overhead view of the Eden Project
  • The Core, on three floors, is built into the landscape so that each floor is accessible from ground level.
  • The Core’s timber structure comprises Forestry Stewardship Council-endorsed glulam (glued laminated) beams.
  • The floors consist of Marmoleum (made from flax), concrete from china-clay sand (low carbon footprint), green tiles from recycled Heineken bottles and a copper roof from a single Rio Tinto mine, known for its high social and environ­mental standards.
