John has spent over 40 years in the Media and Telecoms sector in senior and Board positions.

John has spent his career in the media and telecoms sector holding senior finance positions in News International, Sky TV and Mirror Group.
He then became Chief Executive of Mirror Group and from 2000 - 2004, Orange UK. Further newspaper experience followed with Telegraph Media Group and a regional European publisher.
For the last ten years John has held a number of non executive directorships, including Carphone Warehouse plc, TalkTalk plc and IMImobile plc, where is currently chairman. He served on the council of Exeter University for nine years and has been a trustee of a Multi-academy Trust and a Children’s Hospice.
John has a BA in Economics and Statistics and an Honorary LLD from Exeter University and is a Chartered Accountant.
