Professor Adam Beaumont
Eden Trustee and non-executive board director of EPIL
Adam was appointed as a Trustee in June 2017. He's involved heavily in building a sustainable ecosystem of skills, investment and digital ecosystem in the North of Britain.
Adam is also CEO and founder of telecommunications platform operator, aql, which has enabled him to support and supply some of the global tech scale-ups. He's built the main supporting infrastructure to create the gateway between the North and South of the UK's internet systems. He's also a governor of Leeds City College - a group of colleges with some 48,000 students.
He's passionate about inspiring the next generation of scientists and technologists. He has restored and operates a free conference venue in Leeds to convene young people, technology and inspiration.
Adam began his career as a Lecturer in Physical Chemistry at the University of Leeds. His expertise in thermodynamics has led him to build some of the most energy efficient datacentres in the UK and is involved in the planning of the regions district heating scheme.
He's the Chair of several digital initiatives bringing together digital leaders across the North. One such initiative is centred on health and lifestyle change through social prescription.
