Eden has announced today that colourful pop superstar Mika is the second headliner for the 2010 Sessions.

The Beirut-born, London-based singer-songwriter will headline his Session, set against the iconic backdrop of the Biomes, on Sunday June 27, the day after Jack Johnson plays this year’s only other confirmed Eden gig.

Mika’s debut single Grace Kelly – featuring the kind of catchy falsetto hook that has become his trademark - sold almost three million copies and his first long-player, Life in Cartoon Motion, sold nearly six million copies.

Following this success, he won the British Breakthrough Act category in the 2008 BRIT Awards and was named Songwriter of the Year at the same year’s Ivor Novello Awards.

Mika’s second album, The Boy Who Knew Too Much, was released in September last year, featuring the singles We Are Golden, Rain and Blame it on the Girls. It has already sold one and a half million copies.

He is an acclaimed live performer and has appeared at the Glastonbury and V Festivals among others.

Tjarko Wieringa, Eden Sessions Creative Director, said: "The Sessions have always been able to boast one of the most varied line-ups in live music so we're delighted to be able to announce one of the biggest and best popstars around to complement the top rock and dance acts we've seen here in past years.

"Mika is one of the top-selling and most exciting artists of the past few years and his infectious brand of disco-pop and inimitable showmanship is sure to make for one of the most memorable Sessions ever."

Tickets for the Mika Session went on sale to members of the Inside Track programme at 6pm today (Tuesday February 16) and on general release at 6pm on Wednesday February 24. They are priced at £35 plus booking fee.
