Electropop star Calvin Harris and dance heroes Audio Bullys are the latest top names announced for this summer’s Eden Sessions.

The show will take place at the home of the iconic Biomes on Saturday July 3.

Calvin, who started making music on an Amiga computer while working as a shelf-stacker at Marks & Spencer in Dumfries, is one of the most exciting and successful UK dance artists and has recently announced plans to launch his own record label.

Calvin’s two solo albums – I Created Disco and the UK number one Ready for the Weekend – have featured the singles Acceptable in the 80s, The Girls, chart-topper I’m Not Alone as well as the title track from his second record.

Complementing this, Calvin has successfully worked on a number of high-profile collaborations, including Dance Wiv Me with BRIT-winning Dizzee Rascall, a song that was named Best Dancefloor Filler at last year’s NME Awards. Calvin was also nominated in the British Male Solo Artist category at this year’s BRITs.

He produced the Kylie Minogue single In My Arms as well as another track from her X album and is also a noted remixer, having worked on tunes by fellow Eden Sessions headliner Mika, Katy Perry, Shakira and Kaiser Chiefs (who played the Sessions two years ago), among many others.

Audio Bullys, also known as Simon Franks and Tom Dinsdale, released their 2003 debut Ego War to huge acclaim and a top 20 chart position and followed it in 2005 with Generation. The latter featured probably their most famous tune to date - the Nancy Sinatra-sampling Shot You Down, which hit number 3 in the UK singles chart.

Following a hiatus, Audio Bullys will be releasing their long-anticipated third album Higher Than the Eiffel at the end of this month, promising a fresh sound and an exciting live show to accompany it.

Tjarko Wieringa, Eden Sessions Creative Director, said: “We’re really excited to be able to bring two of the most vibrant dance acts around to the Eden Sessions.

“Calvin has been responsible for some of the best club tunes of the past few years and Audio Bullys are set for a return to the big time this summer following the release of their third album. With Jack Johnson, Mika, Doves and Mumford & Sons already on the bill, this addition bolsters an already fantastic line-up.”

Jack Johnson (June 26 – sold out), Mika (June 27) and Doves and Mumford & Sons (July 2) are already confirmed as headline artists for this year’s Sessions. Further announcements on the line-up will be made in due course.

The Sessions are famed not only for bringing top acts to Cornwall but also for their festival feel, with extra bands and entertainers playing around the site in the run-up to the main event. Massage and alternative therapies will also be showcased around Eden on the day of each Session.

The 2010 Sessions will be the ninth season of summer gigs at the Eden Project. Performers in previous years include Oasis, Kasabian, Florence and the Machine, Vampire Weekend, Paul Weller, Hot Chip, Muse, Editors, Snow Patrol, Basement Jaxx, Amy Winehouse, Moby, PJ Harvey and The Verve.

Tickets for the Calvin Harris and Audio Bullys Session go on sale to members of the Inside Track programme at 9am tomorrow (Wednesday March 10) and on general release at 6pm on Tuesday March 16. They are priced at £35 plus booking fee.
