Eden’s highly-acclaimed Arts Café returns with a bang on Friday (May 7) with drum and bass superstars Chase and Status headlining the Rumble in the Jungle show on the only South West date of their spring tour.

Spread over three stages across the iconic former clay pit, the event will celebrate the South West’s best hip hop, drum and bass, breakbeat and dubstep and will host the South West Drum and Bass, Breakbeat and Dubstep Awards 2010.

Chase and Status will be headline the drum and bass and dubstep stage in the Link, situated between the Biomes. They will be joined by Sub Focus, Benga, DJ Friction and some of the best DJs in the region.

Breakbeat artists including Krafty Kuts, A Skillz, The Freestylers and Deekline will be in the Gallery overlooking the Eden pit, while the Core – next to the Mediterranean Biome - will play host to hip hop, funk and jungle featuring DJ vs. The Drummer, Hollie G and many more.

Partygoers will get a chance to explore the Biomes at night. Aerial performers Swamp Circus and Eden’s pollination and green teams will be in the Rainforest Biome where they will be entertaining guests to the sounds of jungle music.

Arts Café regular DJ Pete Isaac from Jelly Jazz will be playing his trademark brand of funk, soul and jazzy breaks, while the “marketplace of creative opportunities” will be open for business as usual in the Core. Here visitors will be able to learn more about projects both at Eden and other organisations.

Greenpeace will be in attendance, as will the Youth Food Movement and there will be the opportunity to find out about arts provision in the region with representatives from Cornwall Film Festival, The Works and Restormel Arts. K-TV, a new online music TV channel for Cornwall, will also be launching.

Students from Falmouth, Exeter and Dartington will also be showcasing their art and design work.

Beth Lewitt, Eden’s Events Manager, said: “With so many amazing acts in the South West, Rumble in the Jungle is set to cause a big storm. We are bringing some of the UK’s best artists together at this iconic venue, so get ready to kick off the summer and get into the festival spirit!”

A top selection of food will be on sale and people will get the chance to sample exotic cocktails made from baobab and lulo fruit.

Eden is staging Rumble in the Jungle in collaboration with 247 Magazine and the event was one of four across the UK to have been awarded a Smirnoff Creative Grant.
