Jane "Monty" Montague, Eden's Head of Large Scale Events and Production Director of the Eden Sessions, has been named an unsung hero of the UK music industry for her work on the Eden Sessions.

Monty, who is in charge of the production of the Sessions as well as booking some of the bands, won the award at the Live UK Music Business Awards at the Radisson Blu Portman Hotel in London.

Monty said: "It was a complete surprise to be nominated - I was pushing for Eden to be nominated in another category so it came as a complete surprise to find my name on the shortlist.

"The ceremony was a brilliant opportunity to network with key players in the music industry and put the Eden Project firmly on the live music map.

"I've only ever won one prize before and that was an industrial air-conditioning unit, so this was easier to bring back to Cornwall!"

Others nominated in her category were Wendy Deans of Popcorn Catering, Kyla Wight of MTM Radio, Gale Claydon of Traffic Control, Gillian Park of MGR, Martin Goebbels of Apex Insurance Services and Tim Roberts of The Event Safety Shop.

The awards are in their second year and recognise excellence and talent among promoters, venue operators, festival organisers and agents, managers of artists, brand impact and record label partnerships.

The competition is created by the publisher of LIVE UK, a magazine dedicated to the companies and individuals behind the business of contemporary live music .

The Eden Sessions will return in summer 2012. For more information, see
