Cornwall’s premier Casio rap duo Hedluv & Passman will be performing at the Eden Café on Friday December 16. Blending simple, homemade beats with witty observations, they cover everything from the wonders of the internet, the joy of Tetley tea and day-to-day life in their hometown of Redruth. The pair, who met at primary school, launched in 2007 and quickly made it onto the BBC Radio 1 playlist. In 2008, Hedluv & Passman were crowned Busking Champions of the South West and indie group Young Knives named them as their favourite unsigned band. The duo then went to Brazil to perform in a string of prestigious gigs in San Paulo, as well as playing to packed audiences at Glastonbury Festival and opening for Tempa T and Plan B at the 2010 Boardmasters Festival. Hedluv & Passman are currently touring with their second album ‘We Came Here Not For Gold’ which was released earlier in the year. Dan Ball, Eden Café Manager, said: “Local talent doesn’t come any better than this. Their high-energy performance, manic microphone skills and deadpan lyrics make this an unmissable gig.” The gig takes place from 8pm until midnight. Tickets cost £3, or £2 for concessions or for tickets bought from the café beforehand. A selection of locally sourced beverages will be on offer throughout the night. Bread, dips and chickpea and pumpkin curry are available until 9:30pm. To find out more about the Eden Café in White River Place, go to:
