Roots, rock, reggae at the Eden Café
On Friday December 23, eight-piece funk reggae collective Backbeat Sound System will be playing at Eden Café.
The band, who hail from St. Austell, combine funk, ska, reggae, pop and dub and have toured extensively across the UK, sharing bills with Cypress Hill, Dreadzone and Dub Pistols.
Recently they released two EPs showcasing their dynamic arrangements and carefully crafted vocals.
Dan Ball, Eden Café Manager, said: “With the last gig of the year taking place right before Christmas, Backbeat Sound System are a great group to get the party started and get everyone in the festive mood.”
The gig takes place from 8pm until midnight. Tickets cost £5, or £4 for concessions or for tickets bought from the café beforehand.
A selection of locally sourced beverages will be on offer throughout the night. Bread, dips and chickpea and pumpkin curry are available until 9:30pm.
