The Eden Project has won a top accolade at the Westcountry Wedding Awards 2012 which recognise outstanding customer service for couples tying the knot.

The attraction scooped the prestigious Judges’ Choice Award based on customer feedback and judges’ scores.

Eden’s Events and Hospitality Team collected the prize at a ceremony held at Crownhill Fort, Plymouth, last night (March 15), hosted by Wedding Matters.

Di Hall, Eden’s Events and Hospitality Manager, said: “I would just like to thank the whole Eden Team as without their help we wouldn’t be able to deliver the service we do to our couples.

“Eden offers a great range of spectacular settings for weddings and it is fantastic to be recognised in the awards as it is the first time we have entered.”

Eden hosts wedding ceremonies throughout the year and there are a number of venues around the site in which people can make their vows, including both the Mediterranean and Rainforest Biomes.

Weddings can be tailored to the couple’s exact specification and every nuptial nuance can be catered for. In 2010, the Mediterranean Biome played host to a James Bond-themed marriage, complete with the groom and best man abseiling down to the ceremony.

All ceremonies at Eden also have their flowers arranged and prepared by a special team of Eden’s world-class horticulturists, known as the “flower fairies”.
