The Eden Project is welcoming NoFit State Circus back for a second summer, with a new co-produced show making its world premiere at the home of the Biomes.

The as-yet untitled show follows 2011’s critically-acclaimed and sold out Eden debut Labyrinth. It was launched today (Thursday March 29) in the project’s Mediterranean Biome.

A contortionist, aerial rope acrobat, trampolinist and hula-hooper gave the audience in the Citrus Grove a taster of the new show, which will be themed around community. The 22-night production will run at Eden from Saturday July 28 to Sunday September 2 before going on a world tour.

The performers who launched the show today were:

Adie Delaney. Australian trapeze artist Adie graduated from the Institute of Circus Arts in Melbourne and has performed in more than 20 countries in swinging trapeze, flying trapeze, hula hoops, trampolining, bungees, whipcracking and acrobatics.

Leilani Franco. London-based Leilani is an accomplished contortionist and dancer and has worked extensively throughout the world, including with Cirque du Soleil and Cirque Eloize as well as appearing in numerous music videos and cabarets.

Kevin McIntosh. Kevin was born and brought up in Jamaica before studying fine art at Cardiff Art College where he started performing circus arts such as fire-swinging, stilt-walking and trapeze. He now specialises in aerial rope.

Max Calaf Sevé. Barcelona-born Max is a circus performer specialising in trampoline and physical theatre. He studied at Barcelona’s Circus School Rogelio Rivel and the Circus Space in London before doing a post-graduate programme in physical theatre at the Royal Holloway University of London.

All these performers will be part of the cast for the full production in the summer.

The new show will be written and directed by Firenza Guidi and produced by Tom Rack of NoFit State and Tom Critchley of the Eden Project, the same team who brought Labyrinth to Eden in 2011.

Tom Critchley said: “Following the extraordinary sell-out success of last year’s NoFit State Circus show at Eden Project, we are delighted to welcome back our friends for a brand new co-production that will have its world premiere at Bodelva.

“Last year’s show was created especially for Eden’s tenth birthday celebrations, however it is intended that this year’s show will take the banner of Eden far and wide.”

Tom Rack said: “We can't wait to return to Eden! After last year's sell out success we know expectations are really high.

“Last year we fell in love with the stunning landscape and it seemed an instant fit for our promenade performance style. It's a fantastic setting for our style of circus and the spirit of the Eden team was an inspiration. We were enchanted with the idea that every visitor would have a unique and personal journey – and that they'd interact with the place in an entirely new way.

“This year we root our show at the centre of Eden in a show nestled at the heart of the beautiful, ever-changing environment. We're lucky to have the same fantastic creative team returning alongside an international cast to create another unforgettable spectacle.

“We can't wait to catch up with old friends and welcome new ones to another truly unique contemporary circus experience. See you there!”

The show will take place on Fridays, Saturdays, Sundays and Mondays between July 28 and September 2.

Tickets are now available at a special early-bird price, which cost £15 (adults), £10 (concessions) and £5 (children).

The show starts at 7.30pm and a circus ticket entitles people to come to Eden two hours before the show time but does not include access to the Biomes.
