A platter of jazz, folk and blues at the Eden Café
Cornish folk band Biere de Luxe and blues singer Thomas Ford will be playing the Eden Café in St Austell on Friday, April 13.
Biere de Luxe, based in Penryn, combine energetic performances with a hint of medieval inspiration. Their mix of gypsy folk and jazz creates hypnotic, mysterious melodies accompanied by upbeat notes on the drums and guitar.
‘One man blues band’ Thomas Ford will also be playing. The eccentric musician has a husky rock ‘n’ roll voice that fuses with a mellow guitar and cheerful tunes on the harmonica.
Throughout the last three years, his enthusiastic live shows have taken him across the UK and into parts of Europe with his albums Separation Street and the eponymous record Thomas Ford. A new album and tour are planned for this year.
Dan Ball, Eden Café Manager, said: “Biere de Luxe’s colourful, zesty sound suits the café’s quirky style down to the ground. Completed with a performance from Thomas Ford, it will be a fun-filled evening of food, drink, dance and song.”
A selection of locally sourced refreshments will be on offer throughout the night. Bread, dips and a choice of seasonal hot food will be available until 9:30pm.
The gig takes place from 8pm until midnight. Tickets cost £4 or £3 for concessions. Tickets can be bought on the door, from the café during the day or from the website: http://www.edenproject.com/come-and-visit/whats-here/cafe-in-st-austell/...
