Paper Aeroplanes gets summer off to a flying start at the Eden Café
Welsh duo Sarah Howells and Richard Llewellyn, better known as Paper Aeroplanes, will be bringing their delicate, summery sounds to the Eden Café on Friday June 1.
Sarah’s beautiful vocals flutter through melancholy ballads and breezy pop tunes complimented by Richard’s gentle guitar.
The band formed more than six years ago in a small corner of West Wales and released their debut album The Day We Ran Into The Sea in 2009.
Since the release of the critically acclaimed album, Paper Aeroplanes have featured on the BBC Radio 2 playlist and supported artists such as Ed Sheeran, Marina and the Diamonds and folk singer Chris Wood.
Having just finished supporting previous Eden Café performers Ellen and the Escapades, the duo are now embarking on their own 27-date UK tour before they release their new album later in 2012.
Paper Aeroplanes will be supported by dynamic singer-songwriter Jess Morgan. The Norwich based musician will be enthralling the audience with her finely-wrought songs and dynamic guitar playing.
Ashley van Dyck, Eden Café Manager, said: “I’m really looking forward to seeing Paper Aeroplanes live. The stunning mixture of vocals and expert instrumental skills will complement the start to the summer perfectly.”
The gig takes place from 8pm until midnight and tickets cost £4, or £3 for concessions or tickets bought at the café beforehand.
A selection of locally sourced beverages will be on offer throughout the night. Bread, dips and a choice of seasonal hot food will be available until 9:30pm.
