Backbeat Sound System will be filling the Eden Café with their own brand of funk, hip hop, reggae and roots on Friday, August 3.

The eight-piece collective, who formed in St Austell, have built up a loyal fan base over the years, playing numerous gigs around Cornwall and on the UK festival circuit.

Their vibrant arrangements, infectious songs and energetic performances have seen the band share bills with the likes of Plan B, Tinie Tempah and Cypress Hill.

Backbeat Sound System have just released their new single Fighting Bull, which they will be performing at the café. The track has all the hallmarks of the band’s signature sound, providing the perfect soundtrack for a summer evening.

Ashley Van Dyck, Eden Café Manager, said: “Backbeat Sound System have a massive following in Cornwall and packed out the café when they played here at Christmas.

“I hope that everyone comes along with their dancing shoes and joins us for a night of big beats and delicious treats.”

The gig takes place from 9pm until midnight with doors open from 6pm. Tickets cost £7 or £5 for concessions or tickets bought at the café beforehand. People are invited to come early and enjoy a drink on the new terrace seating for a beautiful view of the hills.

There is a range of refreshing summer drinks available, including with Sharp’s Eden Ale, and the kitchen will be serving great food, including the new sharing platter until 9pm.
