The Eden Café in St Austell will be hosting two gigs this week, with the Eden Choir on Thursday, April18 and Welsh singer songwriter Siôn Russell Jones on Friday, April 19.

The Eden Choir, which is made up of Eden Project staff and members of the local community, will be performing in their own inimitable style on Thursday.

Founded in 2006, the group gives popular songs by the likes of Justin Timberlake, Emeli Sandé and Fleet Foxes a new twist with specially-arranged four-part a cappella harmonies.

On Friday night, Siôn Russell Jones will be entertaining the audience with his upbeat songs, rousing choruses and intricate guitar melodies. Siôn will be supported by talented young musicians Shannon Saunders and Lewis Mokler.

Since releasing his debut album And Suddenly, Siôn has been heard on both regional and national radio stations. His music has been used regularly on EastEnders and Coronation Street, while his song Indestructible was championed by BBC Radio presenter Craig Charles.

Last year, he played several dates in America and Canada, including showcase performances in Austin, Texas, New York and Toronto.

Having played at the Eden Café previously, Siôn will be back armed with songs from his 2013 EP So Long.

Di Armstrong, Eden Café Manager, said: “We are really looking forward to having the café filled with the beautiful sounds of the Eden Choir and thrilled to welcome Siôn back to perform.

“With great music, delicious food and a warm atmosphere, the Eden Café is the perfect place to unwind.”

Tickets to the Eden Choir performance on Thursday are free. Tickets to see Siôn Russell Jones on Friday cost £4 if bought in advance and for concessions, or £5 on the door.

The café will be open from 7:30pm on both nights, where a selection of locally sourced food and drinks will be available.
