The Eden Project will be resonating to the sound of some of the world’s best singing groups as the Cornwall International Male Voice Choir Festival visits on Sunday May 5 and Bank Holiday Monday May 6.

Eden will be hosting performances from 19 renowned choirs in the Mediterranean Biome, with performances taking place between 10.30am and 3pm on each day. Choirs will be visiting from as far afield as St. Petersburg in Russia and Sydney in Australia as well as UK entries from Bristol, Taunton and Epsom.

The Cornwall International Male Voice Choir Festival takes place every two years at venues across the county. Eden has been a host for the festival since its inception in 2003. This year’s festival happens at venues across Cornwall between May 2 and 6 and will feature performances from 60 of the best choirs in the world, including 30 Cornish entries.

Chris Pritchard, Eden’s Site Wide Live Production Manager, said: “We’re very excited to be welcoming the Cornwall International Male Voice Choir Festival back to Eden, ten years after we first hosted them. This is a great Cornish event that we’re proud to part of and 19 male voice choirs performing in the beautiful surroundings of the Mediterranean Biome promises to be spectacular.”

Peter Davies, director of the Cornwall International Male Voice Choir Festival, said: “It is really exciting that the Festival is able to have choirs singing in one of the world’s most exciting environmental attractions in the world. All the choirs love singing at Eden and always want to come back. The Mediterranean Biome is the very best place to sing.”
